Australia Zoo - 638kWAn incredible energy solution for one of Australias most iconic attractions, Australia Zoo's Crocoseum.
Australia Zoo gets custom solar system
World-renowned Australia Zoo at Beerwah, Queensland, is famous for its efforts in wildlife conservation, education, and exhibition. As part of the organisation’s mission towards more sustainability and energy independence, Australia Zoo is now making the switch to solar energy.
The 638kW solar power plant at Australia Zoo will produce significant power bill savings, meaning that more resources can go back into conservation and maintenance.
The zoo facilities are spread out over hundreds of acres and have complex energy needs including heating pumps, pools, kitchens, retail stores, and more. The consulting process to nail down the particulars of the project scope and design has been going on for over a year – now it is finally time for implementation!
Over the next few months, GEM Energy will be installing over 1,900 solar panels on the roof of the famous Crocoseum. The solar power plant is set to reduce carbon emissions by 16,500 tonnes over 25 years. Installation of the project is now underway and expected to be finished by August 2018.
From challenging custom installations to small home solar systems, GEM Energy’s experienced team has the skills to turn every project into a thriving investment.
Our strong regional presence underpins the core of our success. At GEM Energy we build genuine connections with our many and varied clients who then refer us on to their friends, family, and business partners.
